Pioneer AVIC-X7115BT issues

Hey guys, need help (I know, right?)

Friend's car has a Pioneer AVIC-X7115BT in it. Starts up normally, does the whole splash screen thing, then the screen goes black and non-responsive to anything. Only indication it's on is illumination around the volume ****. Anyone have any ideas?

edit: should mention the only thing it responds to is the small pin-hole reset button, but does the same thing. Splash screen > non-responsive black screen

My guess would be internal fault or shoddy wiring, how long has it been installed?

been installed for.. 5-6 years? I did the initial install myself. Everything soldered and heat shrink tubed. I, too, am guessing internal fault, but hoping not
