Hello, first post, just joined. Bought an 05 civic LX with radio not working. Has anyone had this issue and swapped out for an aftermarket? I need nothing fancy just basic. I tried researching some but didn't really find an answer. Maybe I didn't dig deep enough. Thx for any advice. oh, I did check fuses etc.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: need radio advice
What about the radio isn't working?
Does it say CODE or ERR on the display and you don't have an unlock code?
Is it stone dead no display at all? Check all fuses in both fuse boxes there are at least 2 for the radio

My mom's '04 Civic radio works but one by one the speakers stopped working. My guess is wiring shorts either in doors (hinge area) or where the harness connects to the radio. Ii told her if I take the time to mess with then will just install an aftermarket to get granny rocking Bluetooth.

DO NOT CONNECT ANYTHING THAT SAYS ILLUMINATION, leave them disconnected and tape them off

Re: need radio advice
But I thought you said you already checked all fuses?
I check plain fuses with a test light and I check all of them. Takes maybe 60 seconds.
I don't need to know or care what each individual fuse is for until I find something blown.
