Is it worth getting an aftermarket cd deck?

I know, a newb question. But I just got done installing my subs and amp and I'm pretty happy with the sound. However, a friend of mine did say that it sounds really clean and crisp, he also noted that getting an aftermarket cd player would make it better. Is that so? If so, what are some good affordable decks out there? Thanks guys!

yeah they improve just about everything and the rca connections give the amp a better signal. i tried a few brands and the cheaper alpine beats them all imo. excellent sound quality. all their processors are the same, just depends how many features you need.

Great! I found this website with the best prices i've seen.. and all there decks come with an installation kit.

http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...l+XDV8125.html

I'm leaning towards that one. Just cause it looks snazzy... but I'm not sure about that brand. I'll keep looking for sure though. Good to know my money wont be wasted =]

Please don't buy that headunit... Damn... It may look cool and have inputs but it will probably be ****. Go with something like this

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1199494692558

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1198888992262

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....=1197074854142

Or what I'm rockin' which is awesome imo (mainly because it has bluetooth so I can talk through my car and all the other goodies)

Hope that this helps!

im with gear. i have an alpine headunit that i can plug my ipod right into and navigate through the headunit. the rcas on a deck send out more power and overall will give your stock speakers a much better sound. its a wonderful investment.

Aftermarket is cool, you can get iPod control, or MP3 CD playability, or subwoofer control, plus crossovers and stuff.

Haha, to be honest i'm not really sure.. I realy DONT want to spend more than 150 bucks on a headunit... I just want a bigger improvement than my factory radio without having to spend more than 150. I would really like something that i can plug my ipod into AND that has subwoofer control since I can't really find a nice setting on my amp that sounds good with indie/alt/rock music, then suddenly all distorted when I bump. haha

DEH-P3000IB should meet all your criteria. iPod control (needs CD-i200 cable), switchable rear/sub RCA (for your sub control), $130, nice little unit.
