Question Keyless Entry?

Hi I'm new to civic forums. However, I've read up on it before actually joining I have a 2001 Civic EX and was wondering if it has key-less entry? I heard it came standard on the Ex models but wasn't too sure. I tried searching on google but nothing concrete came up. When i got the car, it didn't come with a remote but i have seen videos on YouTube that show how to program it. Any help and clarification would be greatly appreciated

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: Keyless Entry?

US market 2001 EX came equipped with keyless entry from the factory.

Re: Keyless Entry?

Awesome! Thanks so much! I went on 2 years with my car and did not even know it had keyless entry. I ordered a remote on Amazon, I'll test it on Monday

Beware, the transmitter used with a dealer installed accessory keyless entry system is not the same transmitter that is used with a factory equipped keyless entry system.

There were several fobs used for various cars and systems that looked similar but were not interchangeable.

Re: Keyless Entry?

I did heed your warning. However, i received the remote in the mail today and tested it out. After following the instructions it didn't work the first time. Then I messed around with it a few more times and it finally worked! Thanks for the help too
