2005 Honda Civic Actuator Problem

I have a 2005 Honda Civic, and my right rear power lock is not unlocking/locking automatically therefore you must unlock in manually. The rest of the doors will lock/unlock perfectly. Has anybody else had this problem? Is it worth just replacing the actuator in hopes that it will fix it?

Super common, here are 4 different threads about it:

you should test before you just go replacing the part, you may have broken wires that are causing a short and making the lock actuator not work. I used dorman replacement actuators from rock auto, to replace 3 of the actuators on my old car, both of the drivers ones when i got the car and the passenger front 6 months later. So dont be surprised if a few months after fixing one another one dies.

The rear actuators are super easy to do, pull the door panel, peel back the vapour barrier, disconnect the electrical connection, disconnect the lock rod from the actuator, remove the actuator, and then reverse the process

Re: 2005 Honda Civic Actuator Problem

Yes! I had this exact same problem with the exact same car. It is the one repair that started me down a rabbit hole of DIY and gave me the confidence to do 90% of the work in my car. I ordered a used actuator (new is very expensive) from ebay and it worked perfectly. Now the other rear side actuator is acting up... so yes I'd say our civics are perfect if it weren't for this all to common problem with the rear door actuators. Let us know how the repair went
