can i get a 6 speed gear box for my 04 civic sport.

i have an 04 civic sport, and was wondering if it is possible to buy a tyre R gear box and replace my current one. i do alot of motorway driving and feel a 6th gear would be nicer to cruise in and possibley improve mpg. Would this work?

If by gearbox you mean transmission then yes but you would have to put a different engine as well. But if your referring to the thing connected to the shifter then no it's not that easy.

bwaaahahahahaha!
did not even check, but i do not think just adding a 6th speed would make the engine run lower RPM. all depends on the gear ratios and the final drive as well, plus they might not match the engine power band either. It could even be shorter gearing in the 6th speed, heck.
I mean, a Type-R with an overdrive gearing 6th gear?!? Bwaaaahahahaha!
Putting larger OD tires does better for that. And live with a speedo and odo off by some percentage.
