1982 Civic - oil capacity and ATF type/capacity/dipstick location?

Hello everyone,

I am a new owner to a sweet little 1982 Civic 1500DX Hatchback automatic. I'll post pics in the next week or so as she gets cleaned up.

What is the oil capacity?

I just did a change (Castrol 10/30, Napa Gold filter).

The dipstick has a flattened area at the bottom with two unmarked lines. I filled it such that the oil level is at the higher of the two lines. Is this right? It took roughly 3.5-3.6 quarts.

----

Where is the ATF dipstick? What sort of fluid goes in the Hondamatic?

Anyone had a link to a manual in PDF form?

Thanks.

Got an owners manual?

Oil, 3.5 quarts sounds about right. Upper line on the dipstick is the max limit.

Trans dipstick is usually down low on the trans and short. IIRC they took Dexron fluid, but check your owners manual.

Car is too old for me to be much help LOL.

I'd say to use a host site and just put the links to it in here.
