First and foremost in my mind is getting my EG back to factory functioning, at the very least. Any upgrades along the way are just a-ok with me. In the junkyard I found my car, made me so happy, only one difference.... mines american built and the other was japanese. So, rim difference, cam difference (appeared so at least) small changes here and there.
A. what major differences are there between the us build and japan build?
B. How do the cams stack up against each other?
C. How do the ecms stack up? If I use the japanese ecm, will the speedo be off because of the difference in math from 13 inch rim to 14 inch?
D. Is there, was there, or will there ever be a 6spd stick trans that bolts up to the d series blocks?

Yeahhhhhhh sorry. lol Apparently its not savin when I add my car to my profile....it keeps clearing. its a 92 civic dx 4dr (duh, lol) d15b7 OE head OE block OE trans. 5spd manual trans FWD, white, ummmm what else? blood type o? no sorry wrong question.... My goal is to stick with the SOHC non-VTec for all future upgrades. ECM is OE p06 version. The cam is slightly worn, when I measured last it was about 2% less lift than factory spec. Didn't measure duration though, didn't think about it.

Oh, also; I need a bracket or adapter to mount an alternator to the outside of the a/c when its bolted up, AND one to mount the alternator to the block on the a/c side when the compressor is not present. If anyone knows where to get one that would be wonderful.....Not looking forward to making ones myself

a. im not to sure the MAJOR differences they should be the same aside from emissions maybe
b. as long as its the SAME motor (d15b7 i presume) they will be the SAME
c. your speedo will only be off if you put different rim size on or lower or raise the vehicle ride height, never heard of an ECU causing issues with speedos unless its defective
d. no, the only 6spds ive even seen were off of k and j series motors but i know FOR SURE there is not one for a d or b series

HA HAAAA Thank you. Simple answers for simple questions. I've searched and searched and could not find definitive anything. And ppl are always saying crap like "just swap it" and useless advice like that. So, thank you for a simple answer.
I didn't figure the ecu would change the speedo output, but I have seen stranger things happen before, so I wasn't going to leave it to chance. And just an update on the car, I swapped in the japanese ecu, and there is very very slight fuel map differences and possibly emissions differences. My power band shifted down about 200 RPM. Not really enough most ppl would notice, but I did....lol
And (strange as it may sound) when I did put the jdm ecu in, my misfire stopped for about a month. Again, not missing enough to throw a code or that most ppl would notice, but I did. Example of what I notice that someone else didn't. My boss, been working on vehicles for 20+ years, couldn't tell there was a misfire, but I heard it and felt it.
