Just bought a 91 hatch the other day thinking nothing but positive things for this car. The owner told me it was a stock D15 with a 4 speed tranny and he put on his own 16g turbo. I plan on doing a B16 swap but need to use this car as a DD for a few more weeks. The day after I bought it it wouldnt start.. I was getting no spark so I replaced the distributor, distributor cap, and rotar. The first start up the car felt and sounded a little rough so I turned it off since then it will not start up again. Im now wondering if I need to time it? I also wasn't thinking when I replaced the dizzy and didnt look at the spark plug firing order right now I have it 1324. Another thing is I cant read the engine code or serial # but the guy at the parts store told me it was a d16 so my question is would a d16 dizzy work on a d15? Again this is my first Honda so sorry if im making no sense.
Also dont know if this makes a difference or not but he has a 2000 si ecu in it.. so he says

I'm not even going to try and tell which D series engine you might have but this might help you figure it out....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_D_engine#D16Y7
As far as I know the engine model # should be stamped on the front of the block.
As far as the firing order goes either buy or download a manual when you figure out which D series engine you actually have.
A 2000 SI engine should have been a D16Y8 if I'm not mistaken.
Leafs suck BTW

That's what I don't get.. I can't see the engine code or serial number its either a d15b1 or a d16 I don't know where he got the 4 speed tranny from and I know its not a 2000 si ecu that's just what he told me he also said the motor was stock which is clearly a lie. This was a high school kid who I bought the car from which was my mistake. I just wanted to get it running.

4 speed tranny is stock on all 4th gen Civics except the SI, which has a 5 speed.
Firing order for the D15-16 is 1-3-4-2. You were close.
