Need help with my car.

Okay Problem with my car is that the timing belt keeps moving off the cam but it dosent come off and I have the belt on pretty tight but not too tight. Also when I start my car it well make a loud noise for a few seconds and it will go away and it will make the same sound while I'm driving. I would also like to add I just replaced the timing belt and the water pump. Any thoughts or ideas will be appreciated. BTW It's A 1.6 block with a Z6 Head,104 tooth timing belt.

Re: Need help with my car.

If the timing belt moves off the cam then you have 1 of 2 problems, incorrect tension or pulley alignment. Secondly you are going to have to be more specific about the sound, is it like a belt squealing, metallic grind, etc.

Re: Need help with my car.

improper belt tension, go back and check the accessory belts they should have no more than 1/4" deflection at the widest gap.
