What kind of power gain are you desiring for? I am doing a d16y7 turbo build and I'm Doing a JDM sports turbo with mix parts. Going for 5-8 psi. But if you want to go more PSI I would suggest Vitara pistons and Eagle rods with arp studs for internals

I personally have a d16y7 turbo. I can answer any questions you have. I can tell you the hardest parts for me to come by and anyother problems you might run into. The first thing tho that I would suggest is to get rid of the y7 intake. Your car will thank you with an added 6-8 hp from that alone. The stock d16y7 actually loses horsepower in the middle of the rpm range due to the restrictive y7 intake. Just get you a stock d16y8 intake and use all of it except the injectors and map sensor. I put that on my car and it was a whole other beast. I meant before the turbo also. The injectors in the d16y7 will only hold about 2-3 psi before maxing out while the d16y8 injectors will hold about 3-5 since they are already 240cc. Upgrade to a 320cc injectors and they max out around 8-9 psi. Now when I am talking about the 8-9psi I dont mean fuel pressure. I mean psi of boost. Around 8-9 psi of boost the d16y7 will produce over 200 hp to the wheel.
If you need any information you can either email me or message me and I will try to get back with you in a timely fashion. I have my complete build in my profile tho.
But your car will hold together until around 12 psi on stock internals but I dont got enough ***** to test the theory so mine is set at 9psi. I do however have h beam rods that will support 600 hp but my pistons are not adequate enough yet, nor the valve train, or the head bolts so Im rocking what I got because the final step costs so much money but if I was to put that all together my next dyno run will be over 400 according to my tuner.
