Rep Power: 0 OBD II reader unable to link to check my check engine light
Took my car to O’Reilly to see what my engine codes were but both code readers he tried would not link up to my car.
Anyone else had had this issue?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
Re: IBD II reader unable to link to check my check engine light
What DID the code reader say or do?
Won't power up at all?
Powers up but says no communication?
I assume you want to check codes because the CEL came on...What symptoms does the car have?

Had CEL on. Code reader said O 2 sensor was bad. Replaced the broken exhaust manifold with a header and replaced both O2 sensors and muffler.
CEL took longer to illuminate but when it did I took it straight to O’Reilly and they said it cannot communicate with the car.
Took it today which is 2 weeks later hoping it would read but did not.

Thanks for everyone’s help.
I checked all the wires and components for damage and everything was fine. Took it to O’Reilly and it was able to read it. Maybe it just needed a little wiggle. Now I have to see why it’s popping up a code for the O2 sensor. I just replaced them both when I installed the new header.
