Bad regulator?

Hello all,
LR power window won’t stay up, keeps sliding down.
Took panel off, to test and noticed this piece pops out of track.
Is this, more likely?
1) Bad regulator
2) “Windows Bind or Come Out of the Run Channels” per Honda Service Bulletin 98-082
3) Other issue

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: Bad regulator?

Needs a regulator.

Fish around in the very bottom of the door for a rectangular chunk(s) of plastic the width of that track, I bet it fell down there in pieces..

Re: Bad regulator?

Well okay the round piece wasn't the rectangular chunk I had in mind, but then I see so many different cars I can't keep all the differences straight.

Yeah you found the broken piece. Replace regulator assembly.

The black chunk looks like the bottom travel limit cushion (for lack of a real name) so it doesn't make that metallic clunk when the window stops at the bottom.

How confident are you it’s regulator assy, not a damaged glass run channel or other issue?

Is regulator assembly aka “Power Regulator” part# 04726-S01-A01?

FWIW: Glass Run Channels:

Re: Bad regulator?

@ezone, No disrespect, intended!
Just want to be as sure, as can be, over the Interweb, before I pull the trigger...
"Power Regulator” part# 04726-S01-A01 in my cart.

Re: Bad regulator?

04726-S01-A01
Looks like it fits 96-00 Civic 4 door sedan, left EDIT: REAR

I can't tell much about the glass run channel from here..... did the glass ever bind or come off track before the regulator broke? Jam up when it gets near the mirror?

Google search for Honda bulletin 98-082 for info about binding or jumping off track

Thanks!
04726-S01-A01 is "Regulator Set, L Rear Door (Power)", per VIN search, which is the side & door, I have issue with.

Stuck hand up and felt along both sides of channel, plus looking at pics...No apparent damage. Not aware of, glass ever binding or coming off track before the regulator broke.
Jam up when it gets near the mirror?
No mirror on L rear door.

Re: Bad regulator?

Shoot me now. I can't even read.

04726-S01-A01 Left REAR door.

Now that I understand.....It was front doors that had the binding and jumping off track problems. Rears didn't have a tsb.
