Hey recently swapped the motor in my 1997 civic coupe automatic. an got it all running good an now when i took it for a drive it doesnt shift right you have to put the pedal almost to the floor to get it to kick down to even speed up an once it does it starts to slow down until i get it to kick down again. took it too the part store an it threw code p0705 transmission range sensor and i cant find were that is on this car nor do i know how to go about fixing it

P0705 shouldn't be a code in that car.
Maybe you mean P1705?
If not, try a different code reader first.

You have a full set of lights in the gauge cluster that tell what position the shifter is in. Do they light up and show the correct shifter position?

Hondas service info does not list that code for that year and model US cars.
That means the PCM is not supposed to be able to set that code.
That means the code reader is probably giving a false interpretation (it's a known problem with some readers and scanners).........so try a couple other scanners before you jump off the deep end.

Yea i seen that it wasnt suppose to throw that code but i didnt know why. I was gona find that plug thats under the passanger side dash tomorrow an jump it to see what code it throws that way. Does it matter that the motor was swapped to a jdm zc 1.6 for tbat code to come up?

It all depends on what PCM is in the car.

If it's the original stock PCM that is supposed to be in the car, it can't have the P0705 code.

The PCM didn't "throw that code".
It set a code of some sort, yes, but your code reader (apparently) can't read it correctly.

Try different code readers, see if you get different results.

Don't go there yet. If you pull the wrong fuses you'll erase the codes and data from the PCM.
