Removing a crank pulley bolt with Milwaukee M18

I'm going to be doing a timing belt. Has anyone used a Milwaukee M18 fuel 3/8 impact to successfully remove the pulley bolt?

Re: Removing a crank pulley bolt with Milwaukee M18

The only way it will come out with a 3/8 gun is if the last person who had it apart didn't tighten the crank pulley bolt properly.

You will need bigger tools.

my craftsman 1/2 impact C3 is rated at 200 foot pounds i believe... your pully at max could be about 145.. it would be a cool video you should upload the attempt.

Re: Removing a crank pulley bolt with Milwaukee M18

And breakaway torque is far higher than initial tightening torque.

Re: Removing a crank pulley bolt with Milwaukee M18

I read somewhere that the torque value for some civics is 181ft-lbs. D17 says 14 ft-lbs + additional 90 degrees. This past time, I sheared the tip of one of my 3/8" socket extensions breaking the crank pulley bolt loose

3/8 won’t touch it. 1/2” minimum and 3/4” would make it easier.

Took me impact rated extensions, sockets and 6ft pipe. Also crank Tool helps imo.
