98 ex TEC td-80u distributor

About 6 months ago I replaced the distributor on the civic because the wire insulation was all decayed and the wires were exposed. I bought one on eBay for $60. Lifetime warranty. Didn't want to spend $350 from the dealer. Well 2 weeks ago started getting 0335 0336 codes ckp sensor faults. Since it was time for a timing belt and water pump i did the ckp sensor and this all at the same time. Well that didn't get rid of the CEL. After much troubleshooting I put my old distributor back on and that fixed the problem.
I want to change the distributor but don't want another piece of junk. Is there a brand other than OEM that you would recommend. Thanks

Nope. Aftermarket distributors are crap.

Like I said my distributor works fine now, but a lot of the insulation on the wires is off, eventually it is going to short out. Trouble with a junk yard is I'm getting another distributor that is near 20 years old. How many years did they use this distributor?

I agree with the junkyard suggestion. My dizzy went out and a $55 eBay dizzy started right up but I now have intermittent tach issues. Checked all internals and still no change. My brothers dizzy off a y7 fixed it.

With prices for OE ignitors and coils it's best to get one out of pullapart. Good luck
