I'm looking for a first car but I also want to modify later on and I know that it's going to be hard to find a fully stock civic. I'm mostly looking at the em1's but I'd like to know if there's something better and any other cars I should look at that's under $5000.

Re: What 6th gen should I look for???

The 5th and 6th gen civic's are probably one of best as far as reliability and tuning go. I like the 7th gen because it is different and not "expected" as much. A 7th gen Si would be a great starter as is has a k series engine which is one of Honda's greatest motors with tons of aftermarket support. The 7th gen is a bit of a red headed step child so it fits the unique category also.
