Rep Power: 0 Sell or Trade 98 EX MT Sedan
Hi folks,
After 19 years together, I'm getting ready to part with my (mostly) trusty 98 EX MT Sedan (original owner). I plan to replace it with a new HR-V, and I'm debating whether or not to just trade her in or try to sell her. I'm not going to lie—she's seen better days. We just hit 250K miles, and she looks it. The AC crapped out a few years ago, and one of the rear doors hasn't been able to be opened for a bit longer than that. There's some rust happening along the area surrounding a back wheel as well as on the edge of the hood and a spot on the roof. Surprisingly, no major dings but some scuffs and scratches.
So, any thoughts on whether it would be worth it to try to sell her privately? She's a manual, which narrows the buyer pool considerably. I know you usually get more by selling cars privately than trading them in, but I don't know if that would be the case here.
Any insights would be appreciated!
