2000 Civic - Spontaneous horn beeping

We just bought another Civic - a 2000 LX, yesterday. Awesome car, in deep dark purple with gold lettering on the back. Runs very nicely - no problems that we know of, and the emissions test is awesome, so the engine seems ideal. 100k miles on it.

But it was in the driveway tonight and started spontaneously beeping the horn for about 90 seconds, then stopped.

Now keep in mind that this car doesn't have an alarm system or LED on the dash - JUST the factory key Fob.

You made it lonely, it wanted attention. Bring it inside for the night. Pet it a lot. Give it some treats. Let it sleep on your bed.

Ok was the horn rhythmically beeping in regular intervals , or was it blaring one steady continuous 90 second beep?

Beep beep beep beep beep vs. BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP

Even and rhythmic beeping?

I'll guess either it does have an alarm in it, or you inadvertently got the panic button pushed......

Oh ...I do see a panic button on the fob. Didn't know it could be pushed by other keys in my pocket. Thanks.
