98 civic- trying to find converter bolts

98 civic lx- snow belt car exhaust rusted out so trying to replace... I got the pipes no problem. I'm trying to find the -3- bolta that hold "pipe a" to the converters flange. My old bolts were so rusted the guys at autozone told me they couldn't measure pitch of threads. Obv im not very car savvy but I can not find those bolts anywhere! On Honda estore they have a part called converter studs. Part # 18176-pm3-300 I got these studs and they aren't the bolts that were in there originally. Did they change the type of bolts they use? If so, why do they come in a 2pk? 1a auto has a YouTube vid that shows cat replacement on a 98 and he says they are 14mm BOLTS and when you order the new cat from them it comes with those 3 bolts. Anyway if anyone has insight into this please help. Moved to Texas and need to pass inspection. Tried using old rusty bolts but didn't grab so it's giving me a cat code. Sorry if im using incorrect terms.

Re: 98 civic- trying to find converter bolts

A factory cat convertor would have used studs not bolts. You likely have a replacement cat. If it both a nut and a bolt, then it really can be replaced with something similar(even SAE).

Did the bolts have a large spring on them? That is the only special bolt I remember in the exhaust of a civic.
