Rep Power: 0 98 civic, HELP!!
I'm looking for someone who knows a lot about Hondas. I have a 98 civic I'm having some intermittent issues with, has after market parts but they are simple modifications like the intake and exhaust. I've had several people look at it and no one seems to be able to find the issue. It is bogging and loosing power in every gear but neutral, and here recently the idle has started surging.. when you drive it hard it doesn't have an issue and when you accelerate it smoothes out. I've replaced throttle position sensor, air intake temperature sensor, upstream O2 sensor, rotor button, ignition coil, throttle cable, and alternator. At first it was only reading a air intake temp sensor code, replaced it and now it's reading misfire in any cylinder. Spark plugs and wires are all good. This is a 1.6L d16y8 vtec engine. Fuel filter is fine I have removed and checked it also. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Vehicle never cuts off and starts immediately every time.

Since nobody has ventured a guess I will. I bet their is an intermittent block in your exhaust consistent with a cat converter where the pieces inside have deteriorated over time. But really just I guess IDE have to drive it to be anymore certain. Good luck let us know
