car wants to die at anything over 3000 rpm

I have a 2000 honda civic si, with the b16a2 motor. It has a vortech supercharger on it. So i just put the engine back in after being rebuilt. It starts fine and idles smooth, but you have to slowly give it gas to get the rpms to climb. But when it gets around 3000 rpm the car wants to die until you let off the gas. I have tested the vacuum and it read good. I have removed the supercharger intake pipes so it was running n/a and still the same problem. I have a aftermarket inline fuel pump that i turned on and know works so its not the fuel pump. Could it be the fuel pressure regulator? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

possible timing issue

i would start by checking your timing marks/tdc

do they line up properly?

I took the valve cover off and looked at the cam Marks. On one cam the mark was straight up but on the other cam the mark was over to to the right about 1 or 2 teeth. should they be in the exact same spot? Do you have a picture of how the the marks should be positioned? thank you for your help.

the marks on both cams should always be pointing in the EXACT same direction, it sounds like one of your cams is not lined up properly, you will need to remove your timing belt and correct it

I just want to start out by saying thank you to all that commented. Turns out I am actually just a dumba** and mixed up the tps sensor and the map sensor in the intake. Thank you for all your help.
