Rep Power: 0 Suspension Questions for EK Hatch
So i got a 1998 civic hatchback (CX) BONE STOCK. The first "Mod" people tell me to do on it is to lower it. I want to drop it like an inch or two, I did some research and found out that good quality coilovers are $1,200+ which I really dont wanna spend that much money. Can I just get springs? I heard they're cheaper. What exactly will i need and also, what are shocks? I heard about them but dont really know what they are. Thank You. - Gevo

Re: Suspension Questions for EK Hatch
Check out Tein or Eibach springs.
Shocks control the oscillation of the spring. They "damper" the motion of the springs. Without them your car would just bounce up and down without any control.
It is always best to replace them as well when upgrading to a stiffer spring. You can try just replacing the springs and see how well your current shocks handle it.
