Napa gold 1334 0r 1344 oil filter

Some people are saying the 1344 is a better filter for my 2000 civic the the 1334, more filter area. Same gasket and threads I've been told, Has anyone worked that out here yet. Any advice would be appreciated

It doesn't really matter. More filter media would mean more filtering but possibly reduced flow. Just use a quality filter and your good.

Thanks for the responce, I just got the civic and doing research on suggestions to make this last for many years to come. Would you do the 1334 or the 1344. can I trust that civic just put the smaller filter on because of the required flow.

Re: Napa gold 1334 0r 1344 oil filter

Maybe the filtering media in the smaller filter is denser so it has a lower flow rate. Maybe the density of the larger filter is less but has more surface area to filter stuff out. I didn't design them so I have no idea, but there are so many variables.

Keeping on top of your oil changes is far more important in keeping the car running for a long time. As long as the filter is made for the car, your good to go.
