Rep Power: 0 Door Lock Help
I have a 1999 Honda Civic EX. I noticed that here recently when I push the lock button on my remote that the driver side will open but the passenger side door wont. It looks like the lock on the passenger side tries to lock but doesn't. When you hit the power lock it the door will lock. I thought that maybe it was because I had my ignition switch changed so I programmed the remote and it still wont lock both doors. I have also changed the battery in the remote. If anybody could help I would greatly appreciate it. I didn't know if it was the actuator. If the power lock locks the door then is the actuator ok? I have done some research on it but haven't found anything, it's very frustrating.

"When you hit the power lock it the door will lock"
Does this mean that only the remote won't lock the door? If you hit the lock/unlock button in the car, on the door, it will lock and unlock both doors?

That is correct. The remote will not lock the door but the button inside the car does. When you push the button on the remote if you look at the door lock on the passenger side you can see it move like it is trying but it doesn't lock.

I can live without it but its more of a security thing. If I forget to lock the passenger door when I get out of the car or someone riding with me forgets to lock it and I don't realize it someone could just walk up and open the door.

Make it a habit to lock your door. If I'm not mistaken doesn't all power lock doors on the Hondas close when you automatically lock your own door? At least all mine do

usually if it is just one door, the acutator is bad, or you got a loose wire somewhere, computer problem..i would just take the door panel off and play with the connections and if that does not work try resetting your remote again..
