I'm going to swap my engine on my 1998 dx coupe, it already has the d16y8 swap in it. I'm unsure of which engine to swap to. I'm planning on rebuilding it and refurbishing it to handle a turbo as well. Would it be better to go with the bigger h22 or just stick the the 2 litre type r engine? Or should i just rebuild the internals on my d16 and turbo that? THanks for any input.

if you want to boost stay away from an H not a strong motor wont last long.

if you wanna boost IMO D is the strongest, a stock D will hold 7-10 lbs all day which equals to about 250-350 WHP

if you want to boost a B then I would go for the LS the sleeves are a little stronger then the B20, both on stock internal will hold about 275 WHP you may get an extra psi or so on the LS safely, and you will save a couple bucks.

if one wants to make an engine light, it will not hold as much pressure.
if you want to make a engine stronger for pressure, it might weigh a lot

It really comes down to your preference, I do like B16's and B20's. But for running boost I find the D to handle it the best, You can definitely build it to hold 20-30 pounds. . . all depends how big your wallet is.

I mainly like my D's because if i blow one i spend 300 bucks and get another one, take about 3-5 hours to replace and im rolling again.
