Sensitive Alarm on 98 Civic

Car: 1998 Civic EX 2DR Automatic
I just bought a Civic and it has a Honda keyless entry remote, original stereo system, and an aftermarket alarm system. The alarm is too sensitive. When parked, if a motorcycle or a car with loud mufflers passes, the alarm goes off until I stop it with the keyless remote. It even does the beeping warning when sprayed with a water hose.
I wanted to know if it's possible to turn down the sensitivity on the alarm. If that's not possible, how can I just disable it and still use the keyless entry remote?
Note: I also believe there is a kill switch that prevents the car from starting if the alarm is not turned off.
Here is a picture of under the dash. The only object that stands out is this black box with a grey switch. The switch looks turntable with a flat head screw driver.
Update
So the black box in the image above was the alarm system. I just turned the switch counterclockwise a full 360 degrees and it fix the sensitivity issue.
