Rep Power: 0 OBD-II Protocol for '99 Civic?
Hi,
I'm wanting to buy an OBD-II bluetooth device for my Canadian '99 Civic CX. I've done a bunch of research on OBD-II, and right now I'm trying to find out which protocol is used on my vehicle.
I've looked through the owners manual and the stickers on my car, and none of them specify the protocol. I've also checked the pins on my OBD-II connector, and the contact pin configuration (4, 5, 7, 14, 16) doesn't match any of the protocols that I can find. The closest is ISO 9141/14230, but that is supposed to have pin 15, not 14.
Can anyone confirm the protocol, or at least point me to a place where I can find it? I would hate to waste money buying a device that doesn't support the protocol used on my car =/

I am also using a ELM327 circuit that I built to connect to my 00 civic.
I am manually setting its protocol to ISO9141 and forcing a slow bus initialization then sending the 01 00 PID command to tell me what PIDs are supported and to test the connection. The bus initializes correctly but I get no response when sending the 01 00 command... -_-
