I was getting ready to take out my whole dashboard and use Duplicolor Vinyl Paint and color it all completely black, but my friend just told me that if I did that it would ruin the value of my car, thus making it harder to sell later on, is this true?
btw the car is a 1997 honda civic LX

Possibly ... if the next owner doesn't like your choice of color, lol ... why not just plastidip it ?

Generally any modification from stock, especially something unusual like painting the dash board, results in a drop in value.

Just pull out a "charcoal" colored dashboard at your local junkyard. Shouldn't run you more than 40$.
