Rep Power: 0 rough idle, tried everything.
Hey guys,
2000 civic sir, (b16a) bought the car with a hydro locked engine(bent rod.hole in the block)
so i put a 88-90 jdm b16a in. After hours of searching and trying everything i have no clue were to turn. when you start the car it dosent start smooth it starts like a motor mount is missing (its rough), idles where it should, no fluctuation, exhaust sounds like its a light misfire (makes a poping noise), the engine hesitates under 2600rpm but after that its totally normal. NO CEL.
I bought the car with, megan headers 4-1, skunk2 intake manifold, cat back magnaflow. Everything was swaped over such as, intake manifold, headers, oil pump and crank angle sensor(the one on the oil pump)
Here are all the things i have done, valve adjustment, new plugs and wires, coil, cap and rotor. Ignition timing is set at 16deg, double checked timing belt marks, compression test turned up 180 and 160psi x3, cleaned iacv, i have unplugged the o2 sensor to see how it preforms and it just ran rich, carb cleaned the throttle body.
When i pulled apart the nfg engine i cleaned everything that was needed in a varsol bin and then washed in soapy water, dried then reassmbled.
I have put on 650km on the engine since the swap. I have searched everything on the net, any help would be awesome.

Re: rough idle, tried everything.
Gearbox should be able to help you with this one. He knows his stuff. When my daughters '98 was running rough at idle, I did most of the things that you did but also changed the PCV valve. It was totally gunked up. I had a heck of time getting it out as well. I don't think it had ever been changed. We purchased the car with 165,000 km on it. It looked like ten years of gunk on it!

are the motor mounts actually good? also i know someone else had the skunk2 manifold and was complaining about rough idle. it might be some of the mods causing it. intake manis are tricky, if they are not made properly it could cause big power loss and possibly idle issues too. do you have any vacuum leaks? is engine light on?

no cel, I installed a new fuel filter and pump today and still no luck, the idle is a little better but its also warmer here today(-5) sometimes it wont even hesitate or bog, but other times it will do it bad. its really hit or miss.
all the vacuum lines are good, no leaks.
mm are fine.
(i paid a online mechanic and all he could come up with was take it to the dealer)
