CrankShaft Sensor

Hey guys. I gotta problem with my 97 civic ex coupe and im stuck. About a week ago my check engine light came on so i borrowed my friends obd2 scanner and got code p0335 which is the crankshaft position sensor. Took it to the shop and they replaced it. 12 hours after getting my car back, i was driving home from work and the car stuttered really hard and they check engine light came on again. Scanned it again and got the same code. I talked to the mechanic that replaced it and he said he has no clue why it would do that and i cant seem to spot anything that would be wrong. Any help with this problem would be awesome.

Re: CrankShaft Sensor

If your mechanic has no clue then you should find another mechanic. What exactly did he replace? The sensor? You could also get this code if there's a wiring problem i.e. a short, bad connection, etc. Your ECU might also be bad. Swap in another ECU if you can.

Are there any other codes? A P0336 code indicates a similar problem and can be attributed to an improperly installed timing belt.

Re: CrankShaft Sensor

As far as i know, all he replaced was the crankshaft sensor and no there were no other codes besides p0335. I'll start looking for an ECU and see what that does. I'll let you know what happens.
