Heater control not working

Hi first time on site. Looks great. I have a faulty heater control on a 1999 civic 1.4 Hatch. Positins 1 and 2 n the dial are not working, though they are intermitant. (More not working than they are). The other positions work fine. Where do I start? Many thanks.

Re: Heater control not working

It's probably not the switch although it could be. I've seen this problem on a couple of different cars other than Hondas and each time it turned out to be the blower motor resistor. The switch redirects current through different circuits in the resistor each with varying impedence. This is how the fan speed varies. In your car it's located on the blower fan housing. It's very easy to change. Replace it with a new one.
