door won’t open all the way

Hello. My drivers side door won’t open all the way. I can open the door from the inside and outside just enough so I can skip in. It looks like the door has been poped out a bit. Please let me know if there are any fixes for this!

Re: door won’t open all the way

Not much will keep the door from opening.

Possible something inside the door fell into the door check arm so now it’s jammed.
Possible hinge rusted shut.

Possible frame of the car got bent due to combination occupant load and “Duke of Hazzard” driving. (Their doors didn’t open either.)

Since you can open it a bit, I would use a inpection mirror / camera to see if there is interference. Spray some penetrating oil onto hinges, and if access allows, unbolt the door check from the frame / pull door panel off and inspect inside part of it.
