Rep Power: 0 2002 Civic SI - Fuel Pump
My Civic Si has almost 300,000 miles. When I start the engine with the car parked uphill and there is no much fuel in the tank, it does not start as promptly as it does with the car parked on level ground or with more fuel in the tank. I assume that this is due to a worn out fuel pump.. Is a new pump recommended at this point and what should be the charge for replacing the pump?
Thanks

Re: 2002 Civic SI - Fuel Pump
Are the hard starting symptoms getting worse?
Those symptoms alone wouldn't warrant me to replace the fuel pump personally.
You can keep the tank at least half full to avoid this plus letting the tank run low on gas can put a strain on the fuel pump - not submerged in gas creates heat causing pump to work harder.
