Question 5th Gear Popping Out

I just put a new exedy stage 1 clutch in my d17a2, and about 50 miles in, 5th gear pops out while cruising. I'm thinking the guy that put my clutch in didn't do my linkage correctly, but I'm reading that it could be a synchro sleeve or shift fork. Has anyone had this problem, due to shift linkage being put back incorrectly after a clutch replacement, or is this an internal problem that just now came up most likely?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: 5th Gear Popping Out

Return to your clutch installer? Let them fix their issues?

Pay attention the the parts about filling, not draining.

I’m giving the guy my car back, and if he can’t figure it out, I’ll prob have to get some money back, and try to find someone else

Re: 5th Gear Popping Out

Possible your installer never even took the shift linkage off when he changed the clutch.

Check your pivot ball at base of the shifter, when those crack they can lead to poor engagement.

idk I called him about it, and
he said that he put everything back together correctly, but he’s going to take it back and fix it. I guess we’ll see in a couple of days.
