What is this spring

Does this look like a spring/thing that came out of my 2005 Honda Civic or just something that hit it so hard it broke through and embedded itself?
It was stuck in my front bumper which now has a big hole in it.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: What is this spring

That doesn't look like anything from your car.
That's probably road debris kicked up by something that was in front of you.

How big is it anyway? Yellow envelope isn't an easy size reference

Holy hell that's yuuuuge..
Like it could have come from the broken tailgate of a truck.

Re: What is this spring

It got lodged in my front bumper. I'm trying to figure out if it did any damage or if it's safe to drive 6 hours tomorrow.

Re: What is this spring

Did the AC condenser get hit? (minor inconvenience)
Is the radiator leaking coolant? (major problem)

Re: What is this spring

I just can't tell. I tried to check to see if anything was leaking but it rained and the ground was soaked so I couldn't see.

Re: What is this spring

Now is the time to take off your radiator cap and even if it’s full, leave the cap off overnight and check in the morning.

Set the cap on your drivers seat so you won’t forget it’s off.

Take it off and just close the hood?
Then check the level in the morning?

Re: What is this spring

Yea, a small puncture might not leak with cap on just sitting there.

Consider yourself lucky it was not 2 1/2 feet higher..
