Intermittent ABS Light

I have a 2004 Civic. Bought used. This is my second summer driving it. On hot days the ABS light comes on, for example, if I'm at a red light, or stopping/starting a lot in traffic. It goes off again after I get going down the road. I had the brakes done last fall. Any thoughts on the cause? It drove fine last summer. No issues.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Get the fault code(s) from the ABS system first.

Re: Intermittent ABS Light

Does the light have to be on for the codes to show up?

Depends on the code.

Re: Intermittent ABS Light

As an aside to getting the fault codes for the ABS, I recall the ABS light as being one of the first lights in the dash to illuminate when my alternator was failing.
