Maintenance light

At what mileage interval does the maintenance required light come on? I've put almost 6k miles since resetting it and still nothing. The bulb is good I can see the light when I turn my key. And I reset the light when i bought the car. But still hasn't popped back on,, just curious.

Re: Maintenance light

it should pop on every 10k miles. It'll start flashing at you at 8k miles, then steady on at 10k

Re: Maintenance light

Set your own maintenance cycle. Mine is around 5k. Often the MM states 30-50 percentage still left to go.

The maintenance that should be investigated is.....the timing belts life.

Re: Maintenance light

Yeah, that's what I do. But I finally have a car with a reminder light so I wanted to be able to just follow that. But there's no way I'm waiting that long lol. I'm at 6k but my oil is still clean so I wasn't worried, just weird that the light wasn't coming on but now I know. Thanks

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: Maintenance light

You can confirm the expected miles for that light in your owners manual

Re: Maintenance light

On the 01-05, it just comes on at mileage intervals. It doesn't take into account driving habits like the 06+ civics do
