2005 radiator support

Has anyone removed or installed a radiator support? They are spot welded and I was wondering how difficult it is to chisel the welds to get it off. Then how difficult to weld on in the right position.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: 2005 radiator support

If the hood latch bolts ripped out of the beam, maybe you can cobble fresh metal in for extra support and reattach the hood latch to the fresh metal. (We have done it in our shop a few times as an "emergency temporary repair".)

Can you weld?

Spot welds might be drilled out if you can find all of them, you can buy a spot weld cutting bit for it (Rotabroach and many others, China Freight has one for like 5 beans).....and if you can't weld, that may give you locations to use nuts and bolts for assembly instead of welding.
