A/C Compressor cycles while running the heat?

I used to drive a 95 Integra and don't remember the compressor cycling when running the heat in the winter time. My 2005 ex civic is running the compressor while I've got a heat setting on, is this normal? Recirculate and a/C buttons are both turned off.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

If you have it set on either of the defrost settings (floor + def, or just def), AC is automatically enabled to run without the indicator light.

If the compressor continues to run while all HVAC controls are OFF, that's a problem that needs fixed. Stuck compressor relay is not uncommon.
