Rep Power: 0 01 Civic cuts off but restarts after a few mins.
I have a 01 Honda Civic where I had the radiator, water pump, serpentine belt, thermostat, temperature sensor replaced and above all, head gasket and overhaul of the heads. After driving for a few weeks one day all of a sudden my Civic shuts off. After waiting a few moments It starts but drove sluggish. I turn off vehicle and wait ten minutes and it started to where I drove 15 miles without no problem to my distination. I have had the same issue again afterwards but it didn' drive sluggish. Could it be my timing belt sensor or fuel pump?

The last code I got read a leak at the Evap canisters . I haven't got an up to date read to this day. What's a CEL?
Thank you.

I had this happen to me before.... I had zero check engine lights and would start replacing stuff thinking that would help the issue. Then one day after it happened I disconnected the battery and reconnected it and noticed that it fired right up. That led me to talking to a Honda tech and he basically told me that with this generation Civic he has seen a few cases of water causing damage to the ECU. I purchased a used ECU on Ebay and had a friend tow me to Honda to sync the alarm system and she fired right up.

Ok...I did a little research. It's the CMP sensor . I think I'll get a quote on the sensor and install myself before it gets cold. I'll get back to you and thank you ezone.

Cam position sensor is CMP.
Make sure its connector is fully plugged in.
KNock sensor code doesn't help but I don't think it will cause it to stall out.

After my last Comment my Civic had a bad oil leak . I've looked but have no clue where the leak is at . I mean the leak is bad . Left a big puddel of oil. Driver side wheel has indications of where the leak may be. Besides having a bad gasket(s) what other areas can there be oil coming out?

How many miles on the engine? 150k-200k?
Valve cover gasket?
front crank and cam seals?
Oil pump need resealed?

Could my last service could've been done half ***? I only got less than 3 k miles after my last head resurfaced and head gasket replaced.

Take stuff apart so you can see the leak?
