right now I have 16x8 et 25 avid 1 av 16. really want 17s for a tighter fitment without going lower. would these fit?

not with that offset/width. Aim for a 7-7.5" rim with an offset between.. et35 and et44.. something like that.
I'm running 17x7's et42, rocking 215/45-17's with no issues.
