Rep Power: 0 Gauge Cluster works intermittently-possible shortage?
Hi,
I have a 02 Honda Civic LX that has some issues with the cluster working when it wants to. During the summer months it works perfect every time it is started. However in the cooler months, it only works when it rains & I have to use the wipers, or when I slam my hand on the dash in the right spot
Could this be a shortage? I have change out some of the fuses associated with the cluster, and nothing has changed. Also, when a code reader is connected, nothing shows up, at all (not sure if that is due to the gauges), but how can I find the short, if it is in fact a shortage in the wires? Please, anyone who has any knowledge on this topic or specific issue, I do appreciate your input, or even a step by step. I am a motivated DIYer here, but will seek professionals if need be.
Thank You in advanced

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Pull the cluster far enough to lean it back and wiggle the harness connectors on the cluster while the car is running, see if that affects anything.
My guess....Probably gonna be a problem on the board.
