Rep Power: 0 My civic is stalling on me...
What happened:
On an extended exit ramp when I down shifted throughout the gears I noticed the usual "jolts" in deceleration while the engine is breaking were a lot more pronounced than usual.
As I came to the end of the exit ramp and was making a slow speed right turn (in 2nd gear) the engine stalled.
I could not get the car to restart, it would crank and start to turn over and then stall again.
Finally I got it started and made it to a parking lot (where it stalled again at slow speed) and called a tow truck.
While waiting for the tow truck I got it started (with some effort) and for a couple minutes held the throttle at high RPM's. When I let it idle, it did not stall.
That is last that has been done with it...besides the tow truck driver giving it a test ride in the parking lot and expressing that everything is fine!
Please respond if you have any thoughts or suggestions about what I should do. The car has 120k miles, does NOT have any maintenance lights or sensor lights illuminated, has had oil changes per OM recommendation, and had the timing belt, alternator belt, and spark plugs replaced 3 years ago.
