Re: Who has the most miles on their 7th Gen Civic?
2003 Civic EX Sedan with 266 K and runs well and returns high MPG. Beside regular brake/ tire/ timing belt/ water pump/ spark plugs/ valve lash, and fluid services, had to replace the head gasket at 230 K (not an uncommon problem with these D17A2 engines) and alternator at 220K. In addition to the head gasket change, head was warped and the EGR system baffle plate/ports at the intake manifold was near clogged. Be aware this would have triggered a engine code if it was allowed to clog.
Recently replaced front struts due to strut mount bearing corrosion and radiator (weeping at lower plastic housing/core seal). Original automatic transmission, replaced fluid every 40 K and last 120K miles been using CASTROL Transmax AF fluid for Imports, and very pleased with the performance. Honda Auto transmissions won't fail with anything but Honda Z1 or DW1.
