03 Civic DX codes - how to read and what do they mean

Hello everyone. I recently bought a 5 spd 03 Honda Civic DX from a friend with approximately 230,000 KM on it. The Maint Req' light on the dash is on.

I have an Autolink AL301 CAN OBD II code reader I used on my Toyota Corolla. Will this work on my 03 Civic DX? I was wondering how to use it on the Civic. Where do I find the plug? Do I plug it in first before turning the car on, or afterwards etc. Thanks in advance for any help.

the "maint required" light is just a mileage counter, it means nothing, it comes on after a certain amount of mileage, it doesn't nessessarily mean anything is wrong, refer to your owners manual on how to reset it, or look it up online, im too lazy to do it right now,

if you are talking about the CEL then that would be a different story

Thank-you. I believe that it is the Maint Req' light and not the CEL.

I reset it. Thanks.
