quick question about radiator

Hi, I posted a picture and I am wondering if there is suppose to be a hose there. On the right, is the lower radiator hose. My car has been leaking coolant and I can't find the source. Thanks

looks like the nipple that feeds the overflow/resivior for the radiator, Dry/clean everywhere and then run it to operating temp and look for drips. The last bad radiator I had, had a hairline crack in the plastic.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Re: quick question about radiator

If that nipple is on the bottom tank of the radiator, it's the trans cooler for an automatic trans.
I assume your car has a manual trans, yes?

Re: quick question about radiator

Yes, it has a manual transmission. I replaced the radiator hoses and I can't find where the leak is coming from. Is there suppose to be something plugged in there?

No, you have a manual trans and they do not use a cooler.

It's not necessary to plug them, they can be left open.

Re: quick question about radiator

Clean the engine bay, go for a hard rip then let the engine cool down over night. After it has cooled try looking for white crystal like residue. This should lead you to the location.

If you can not see anything up top check the water pump.
