2001 Honda Civic won't stay on

I turned on my car this morning and drove out of my parking lot. My car turned off on the road. It now starts but immediately turns off. I replaced the fuel relay and can hear the fuel pump turn on and off. When the car starts it back fires and turns off. It also smells like raw gas. What do you think is wrong with my car?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Jumped time?

When the engine stalls out, does the green key symbol flash angrily?

No the green symbol does not come on when the car stalls.

Any fault codes?

Not losing fuel pressure as it dies?
Did you check if it jumped time yet?

It definetly seems to loose fuel pressure. No I haven't checked it it jumped time yet. I am going to get into it tomorrow to check. Thank you for the response. I'll let you know what I find.

It definetly seems to loose fuel pressure.
I'd need to prove it with a fuel pressure gauge, as the engine stalling could be caused by any of many different things.

It ended up being the CPU. Once it was replaced, I had no problems.

Had the same problem on my 02 LX, turned out to be the Phase Sensor. Probably the same thing you meant.
