Rep Power: 0 Temperature Guage Issue
I have a 2004 Honda Civic and the temperature gauge periodically goes to zero or cold with out any rhyme or reason, then it stays there for awhile at the zero point, and eventually it creeps back up to its normal temperature reading. I have had it happen to me going down city roads. It also happens frequently at street lights, but I have noticed it never happens on the freeway. As far as street light stops I would say it goes to zero at about 1 out of 4 street light stops.
I have changed out the thermostat with a BECK/ARNLEY thermostat and the problem still happens at the same frequency.
Oh, after a few times going to zero it triggers the check engine light. As far engine monitoring the only thing I have is a Actron U-Scan.

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one
