'02 Si parting -- What to pull?

Howdy.

Just joined, and this is my first post. Normally when I jump into a new forum I lurk for a while, but I don't have time for that today.

Brief background...I've generally been a euro car guy. It started with V-dubs, then Audi, then Volvo. I just finished a 5 speed conversion on an 850 turbo, and I'm looking for a new project. I wanted to do something other than the normal (Volvo) stuff I play with, and it seems fate is yelling at me. My local Pick and Pull has an '02 Civic Si (only 104k) that's been sitting in their processing area and is about to hit the yard today. The timing of this is just perfect, so it looks like I'll be starting a Honda project.

Being totally new to Honda though, I need advice on what to grab. Obviously the motor, trans, harness, and ECU. At this point I have no idea what I'm going to do with it, so I don't know what else to get. I was reading some site about a K20 swap into a CRX and they indicated the speedo, and the radiator for some reason, but that the axle shafts would need to be custom. I would have grabbed the axles, so that's money saved.

Anyway, they open in 2 hours, and I'll be standing at the door. Any advice appreciated.

Wanna grab the whole rear brake assembly for me? I really REALLY want to convert to discs in the rear.

Re: '02 Si parting -- What to pull?

I took a chance and grabbed them, assuming they'd swap onto whatever I end up with. I got the complete engine (alt, a/c, intake, TB, etc), trans, wiring harness, ECU, instrument cluster, the shifter with cables, and rear brakes.

Now I have to find a car to put it all into, and try to learn as much as I can about Honda's in the meantime. It's all new to me. Currently on craigslist in my area is a '91 Civic wagon that I'm thinking about (I'm a sucker for wagons), and there's a base model '91 hatch in the no-run section of a local auction yard, coming up for sale on the 22nd.

Starting the search...
